Senior Citizens Overjoyed By The King’s Academy Elementary Choir’s Christmas Program

Category : Uncategorized

The King’s Academy elementary performing choir, known as The King’s Kids, performed a Christmas program on December 16th, 2009, for the citizens of The Classics (a senior citizen community located in West Palm Beach).

The King’s Kids rapped and sang their way into the hearts of the senior citizens who live at The Classics.  Along with the choir, 2nd graders line danced and sang their “Christmas Starr!” program songs. A group of 6th grade dancers, wearing poodle skirts and leather jackets, did a 50’s style number, “Christmas Hop,” while the choir backed them up singing.   The senior folks also joined in a “sing-along” with all the students as Mrs. Robin Phillips (Elementary Music Director) played some favorite Christmas songs on the piano.

The choir has performed at The Classics before (Christmas 2008 and Spring 2009) and were requested to come back to perform again this year.  The King’s Kids find that performing is a wonderful way to share Jesus in the true spirit of Christmas.

“We just love it when the kids come… they are amazing!  And they just make our day and bring us great joy,” a 91 year old resident of The Classics said.

The King’s Academy is a nationally recognized private Christian school serving approximately 1,200 students from preschool through twelfth grade and is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, the Association of Christian Schools International, and the Florida Association of Christian Schools.  The King’s Academy serves students and their families across Palm Beach County at its main campus at Belvedere Road and Sansbury Way in West Palm Beach and its satellite preschool campuses in Greenacres, Palm Beach Gardens, and Royal Palm Beach.
