The King’s Academy Alum Headed To Second Super Bowl

Category : Uncategorized

Former Lions standout Heath Evans is headed to Super Bowl XLIV following the Saints 31-28 overtime victory over the Minnesota Vikings.  Evans is a versatile, skilled fullback who has ably served as a lead-blocker, rusher, receiver and special teams ace throughout his nine-year NFL career.  He has played in 127 career games, rushing for 577 yards and 4 touchdowns, hauling in 50 passes (3 touchdowns) and adding 29 special teams stops. Evans also has a wealth of postseason experience, including playing in Super Bowl XLII with the New England Patriots.

However, despite his football success, the game is not the most important thing in Evan’s life.  An outspoken Christian, Evans was spotted leading the Saints and Vikings players in a post-NFC championship game prayer.  He and his wife, Bethann, have also established the Heath Evans Foundation, dedicated to fostering hope and healing in the lives of children and families affected by sexual abuse.
