At The King’s Academy, private school or not, athletic programs are making big moves this week. There are exciting things happening and have already happened for The King’s Academy. The Varsity Girls Soccer Team traveled to Ft. Myers for a FHSAA Regional Semifinal at Evangelical Christian, winning 4-0 and qualifying for the FHSAA Regional Finals. The Varsity Girls Basketball Team hosted John Carroll for a big rivalry game this past Tuesday, winning 69-47.
The King’s Academy also has some exceptional scholar-athletes at the school this year, and some of them will continue to play in college next year. Christina Alessi will sign in April to play Volleyball at Palm Beach Atlantic University next year. There are several other athletes that are undecided, but look to solidify their choices in the next few months.
National Signing Day was on Wednesday, February 3 and The King’s Academy had 3 athletes take part in the signing process at 2:00pm in the SFAC. The athletes were Ian Williams, Gilda Doria and Connor Price.
Also, the Girls Varsity Competitive Cheerleading team will compete at the FHSAA finals in Kissimmee this Saturday beginning at 9 AM. The Lions finished as state runner-up last year and look to move up one spot in the 2010 competition. The Lions will compete at the Silver Spur Arena – 1875 Spur Lane, Kissimmee, FL 33744 and would love to see you there.
