Christina Alessi has verbally committed to playing volleyball for NCAA Division II Palm Beach Atlantic University in West Palm Beach. She will sign with PBA in April. In 2009, Alessi made first team all-county as an Outside Hitter. She is one of the county’s premier net players who ranked ninth among small schools in both kills (8.4) and blocks (2.5) per match. Alessi, who also plays basketball at TKA, recently passed the 1,000 career rebound mark and has 1,000 points for her career, the first player to do so at The King’s Academy.
The King’s Academy has announced that Ian Williams, a 5’10, 170 lb. FL/DB has accepted a ‘full ride scholarship’ to play football and run track at Fordham University in New York. Williams, a two year starter for the Lions, has been an All-Area selection both years at DB and was selected to the All-District team this past season. He was also selected to play in the Broward County All-Star Game and the Outback Bowl All-Star Game in Palm Beach County.
Williams, voted a team captain by his teammates, had 6 interceptions, 3 blocked kicks, 9 pass break-ups and 88 tackles during his two years at DB on Varsity. “One of the best ‘sure’ tacklers I’ve coached in my 24 of years coaching. He will also hit you,” says his head coach Craig Dobson. “He’s averaged 33 yards every time he’s touched the ball whether it is returning an interception, playing receiver, returning kick-offs, running reverses or being the pitch back in the spread offense.” A ‘Playmaker’ is what Dobson calls him and he can play ‘either side of the ball.’
Williams, as a sophomore, won a gold medal at the state track finals running the first leg on the Lion’s 4×400 relay team in 2008. In his junior year, 2009, he anchored the Lion’s 4×100 relay team, winning the gold as he came from behind on the final leg. He also won the gold medal in the 200 meters. #20 Ian Williams.

The King’s Academy has announced that Connor Price, a 6’2, 195 lb., 2 year All-Area Strong Safety, will start attending classes at The University of Central Florida this summer and play football for the Knights, starting August 6th as a ‘Preferred Walk-On.’ Price, voted a team captain by his teammates, has also excelled in academics at The King’s Academy, acquiring a ‘Bright Futures’ opportunity. Price also was selected to play in the Broward County All-Star Game.
Price, a 2 year starter at Strong Safety and occasionally playing Wide-Out and Tight-End for the Lions, accumulated 99 tackles, 4 sacks, 5 interceptions and 11 pass break-ups over the past two seasons. With a reputation of being a big time hitter, offenses thought twice sending receivers over the middle as many of Price’s pass break-ups came from jarring hits.
Price also excelled on offense when called upon, playing Wide Receiver as a junior and Tight End as a senior. He had over 300 yards receiving and 4 touchdowns, averaging close to 26 yards a reception. “Athleticism and wanting to clobber somebody has been his biggest assets thus far” says his head coach, Craig Dobson. #3 Connor Price
