In order to promote good character in its students, The King’s Academy regularly gives its students the opportunity for community service.  This year, TKA’s students donated more than 2,000 hours of labor to agencies throughout Palm Beach County as part of King’s Spring Missions Week.

Jim Kolar, High School Assistant Principal, explained TKA’s emphasis on service, “One of our purposes of TKA’s Spring Missions week is to make an impact in our community.  We know that we can only accomplish that by our actions.  We chose the theme “Serve” for this school year and wanted to provide opportunities for our students to do just that—serve in our community and let those around us know that we care.”

From March 17th to 19th, faculty from King’s took every grade level to serve off campus on a Community Project.  Junior High students had the opportunity to serve at the Grassy Waters Preserve on Northlake Boulevard.  They planted nearly 1,000 plants and trees at the Preserve, the sole source of drinking water for the City of West Palm Beach.  High School students partnered with the Palm Beach County Solid Waste Authority and their “Paint Your Heart Out program.  Tenth graders painted a community wall in Riviera Beach.  Other high school students painted at Union Missionary Baptist Church on Broadway Avenue.  “The Pastor and staff were ecstatic at what our students accomplished in those two days.    It was amazing to see how our students worked and interacted with each other,” said Kolar.

The King’s Academy is a nationally recognized private Christian school serving approximately 1,200 students from preschool through twelfth grade and is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, the Association of Christian Schools International, and the Florida Association of Christian Colleges and Schools. The King’s Academy serves students and their families across Palm Beach and Hendry Counties at its main campus at Belvedere Road and Sansbury’s Way in West Palm Beach, Florida, its Clewiston, Florida campus on Caribbean Avenue, and its satellite preschool campuses in Greenacres, Lake Worth, Palm Beach Gardens, and Royal Palm Beach, Florida.  The King’s Academy also provides remote learning at TKAOnline.net.  More information about The King’s Academy is available online at www.TKA.net and www.TKAClewiston.net.
