On August 13th, The King’s Academy dedicated a new Golf Development Complex on its West Palm Beach campus.  Consisting of twelve driving cages, three pitching greens, and a chipping area, the complex was initially the vision of Boys Varsity Head Coach Bruce Stutzman.  At the dedication, he commented, “When this campus was built six years ago, I told (former TKA President) Nelson Loveland that something was missing, but I glad to say that it’s here today.”

Stutzman was joined at the ceremony by Girls Varsity Head Coach Beth Carpenter and King’s administrators including President Jeff Loveland, Secondary Principal Sonya Jones, and Athletic Director Adam Winters.  Also present were Boys Junior Varsity Coach Kevin Shaw, King’s boys and girls golf teams, as well as many supporters of the TKA golf program.  Founding donors to the complex, including John and Sherry Snider and Alan L. Gerwig & Associates, were recognized for their generosity and all in attendance jointly dedicated the facility with a prayer, “To the Lord, we dedicate this complex for the good of the game, our players and for the honor of our God.  Amen.”  Will Thornton ’09 ended the proceedings with a ceremonial first shot.  Thornton, who will attend Mississippi State University’s professional golf management program in the fall, was King’s 2009 boys golf captain.

The King’s Academy is a nationally recognized private Christian school serving approximately 1,200 students from preschool through twelfth grade and is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, the Association of Christian Schools International, and the Florida Association of Christian Colleges and Schools. The King’s Academy serves students and their families across Palm Beach and Hendry Counties at its main campus at Belvedere Road and Sansbury’s Way in West Palm Beach, its Clewiston campus on Caribbean Avenue, and its satellite preschool campuses in Greenacres, Palm Beach Gardens, and Royal Palm Beach.  More information about The King’s Academy is available online at www.TKA.net.
